RGE400 residential style with all steel cabinet |
Double up for extra size It's difficult to make an extra-large absorption-type refrigerator. As a result, really large gas refrigerators don't work very well. If you need more space, we recommend putting two 8 cubic foot Servels side-by-side. The reversible doors allow you to create your own 16 cu ft double door refrigerator. One of our competitors sells a 15 cubic foot refrigerator for about $50 less than two 8 cubic foot Servels but it won't keep food as cold. For added savings, shut down one refrigerator when not needed during the off season or the cold winter months.
Our Servel works well! This Servel-brand refrigerator and freezer has 8 cubic feet of actual usable space for food storage (roughly comparable to a 10 cubic foot refrigerator). Rustproof enamel finish. Can be converted to butane, natural gas, or 230V electric. Dual thermostats for gas and electric operation.

 Lots of storage space |
RK400 -- Our kerosene powered refrigerator Similar to the RGE400 above, except that this refrigerator is Kerosene-powered. The RK400 has 8 cubic feet of usable space. The fuel tank holds 2.5 gallons, which is enough to last about a week and a half. There is no thermostat on this refrigerator, so the burner needs to be adjusted manually.
